About Grover Washington Jr

Grover Washington Jr. (12 December 1943 – 17 December 1999) was a jazz-funk and soul-jazz saxophonist from the United States. Many regard him, alongside Wes Montgomery and George Benson, as one of the creators of smooth jazz.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Washington produced some of the genre’s most iconic songs, including “Mister Magic,” “Reed Seed,” “Black Frost,” “Winelight,” “Inner City Blues,” “Let It Flow (For ‘Dr. J’),” and “The Best Is Yet to Come.” Moreover, he frequently collaborated with other musicians, such as Bill Withers on “Just the Two of Us,” Patti LaBelle on “The Best Is Yet to Come,” and Phyllis Hyman on “A Sacred Kind of Love.” Initially a composer, he later became an arranger and producer.

Just The Two Of Us Lyrics

I see the crystal raindrops fall

And the beauty of it all

Is when the sun comes shining through

To make those rainbows in my mind

When I think of you sometime

And I wanna spend some time with you

Just the two of us

We can make it if we try

Just the two of us

(Just the two of us)

Just the two of us

You know the rest.
